Unlocking Climate Finance – Perspectives from Banks in Africa and the Asia-Pacific
17 November 2025We are excited to share today’s (12 June 2025) important announcement by the Minister of Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Hon. Jane Mkhonta-Simelane: the appointment of the new Board of Trustees for the Eswatini Environment Fund (EEF).
The EEF is a powerful tool for driving grassroots environmental sustainability in Eswatini. Managed by the Eswatini Environment Authority, the Fund provides financial and technical support to communities and organizations working to protect our natural resources, restore our land and address climate change challenges. In the past year alone, the Fund supported 15 innovative projects with grants totalling E2 million, empowering emaSwati to take action for a greener, more resilient future.
Minister Mkhonta-Simelane emphasised the government’s commitment to transparent and effective resource allocation, ensuring that every community has access to support for their environmental initiatives. She encouraged all citizens to take advantage of the opportunities provided by the Fund and thanked the EEA for their dedication to environmental stewardship.
Congratulations to the newly appointed Board of Trustees! We look forward to their leadership in guiding the EEF to even greater impact for people and the environment.
